Dave and Gabby over at PrintDesignAcademy.com held a week long event, The Color Bar Challenge. The focus of the event is about educating designers about how to setup designs for print production.
Project Title or Name:
Pixel Pump by Designer’obics VHS Sleeve/Jacket
What is Pixel Pump by Designer’obics:
Pixel Pump is the bodacious new aerobic workout put together by the swell cats at Designer’obics. We’re
a posse of creative wizards who were totally buggin’ over creative burnouts, so we decided to kick it up a
notch with an aerobic workout designed to combat designer dilemmas and put some spark back in to your
creativity. We’re all about mixing some cheeky fun with serious gains for your design career.
Goal:
To design the most rad VHS jacket for Pixel Pump by Designer’obics that’s got all the vibes of the totally
tubular ‘80s and makes a shout-out to designers and creatives.
This was my submission. I tried to stick to CMYK/Process and the supplied assets. I wanted to keep this as close to a job where I was given the assets and told to produce something. Staying within the existing brand was a priority for me. This was fun, even though I’m not a fan of the 80’s retro movement.

I have the template in white over the images here to help explain the image.
